I finished off Last Imperial Prince for PC-FX, and with that, I think that's enough PC-FX for a bit.
Moving on to a another system where I'd like to seriously put some effort into a second game, I think it's time I give some attention to my PSP. I've had it much longer than my PC-FX, but so far there's only been one game that I played in-depth. I've beaten a couple other games on various compilations, but that was only through casual playing. Plus, I really need to figure out what's going on with my PSP, since I'm still getting the issue with it thinking the tray is open.
I decided to go with Me & My Katamari. I was all over this series with the first two games, but I basically haven't touched it since We <3 Katamari was new. I guess just like the creator, I feel like the series has run its course. Even the second game didn't feel that necessary. I'd compare it to Pikmin and its sequel, in that the sequel is the exact opposite of the original in terms of innovation, but those sequels were still nice because they offered a lot more content to expand upon fairly short originals. While Me & My Katamari (and I assume all following titles) is just the same old thing rehashed and milked, even the most derivative Katamari is still more fun than most modern games, so I'm still reasonably enjoying it. I got about 6 hours into it so far.

I beat Me & My Katamari on PSP lightning fast, but I'm still playing it. I think I'll go for 100% completion, which I was never able to do with the previous games because, at the time, I didn't own a US PS2 and was borrowing one to play the games. I held onto it long enough to beat the games and gather all of the presents, but that was about it. Now I have the luxury to take my time with a Katamari game. Right now I have 93% of the items, with all but one or two presents, and I think seven more cousins/rookies to get. I'm also working on getting the best islands and getting 100 point scores on every island that gives a score.

Ever since I got a good computer my consoles have been collecting dust, I've been so busy with Amnesia, Just Cause, Left 4 Dead 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. Back to consoles: I finished Shadow Hearts some time ago and it's easily one of my favorite games ever. And then I started up Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant, and while it improves on many aspects it also fails at some: Yuri looks more like a standard pretty boy, and is generally less charming. They even got rid of his awesome coat to give him some stupid looking tight leather suit. And while the first game had a more comical sexual approach, the sequel is way more annoying. It's filled with AM I KAWAII UGUU scenes and giant breasts and stupid outfits. AND IF YOU'RE GOING TO ADD VOICE ACTING PLEASE DO IT WELL. Also, it's a shame they ditched detailed pre-rendered backgrounds for mediocre 3D. I must sound frustrated, and if I don't, I truly am.

I'm up to a 99% complete collection in Me & My Katamari on PSP, and it's been like pulling teeth trying to get the last items. Surprisingly, there's not a lot of coverage of this game out there, so the FAQs only help so much. Seems like I mostly missed items in the sweets stage and in Sakura Town (the towns in general to some extent, but they're all reskinned versions of the same map anyway). The sweets stage makes sense since it's over so fast, and it was no big deal to find what I missed in it. Sakura Town, however... ugh, I feel like I've done all three versions of the town a bajillion times over already. I have no idea how I'm missing so many items from it still. But at least I did good collecting the really big stuff, so I haven't had to repeat the longest stages much. I've been making some progress in improving my islands too, but I've mostly been focusing on completing the collection.

I finally got a 100% complete collection in Me & My Katamari on PSP. :) I had a good run with the stages too, so I think the Dolphin one is the only one left where I need a 100-point score (and the non-scored islands are all at their best). I want to complete all of the stages of the 2D mini-game, and then that's about it. I could try to get S-ranks in every item category, but since there's no way to really know what the values of items are, I don't know if I'll bother. I already have most of the S-ranks anyway.

I haven't done much in Me & My Katamari on PSP since my last post. I improved my dolphin score, but 100 points is still eluding me. I beat the 2nd 2D stage, but the 3rd and final is actually a pretty dang tough little platformer stage.
I did, however, pop in Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle to give it a try. I only picked it up because I had a NIS Store coupon that was about to expire and it was the cheapest thing on there worth getting, but since I don't have it on any other system, may as well have it on PSP. Seemed a bit unusual from the typical strategy RPG, but I didn't play long.
But now I'm sick with a cold and don't really want to play PSP when my hands are clammy or oily or whatever. Maybe it's time to bust out the GBA SP again and spend some time playing in bed.

I did exactly as I said I would in my last post and continued right where I left off the last time I had a cold by starting a game of Dragon Warrior II via the Dragon Warrior I & II compilation on my Game Boy Advance SP. It's interesting this time because the first one is the only I've played significantly prior (on NES and GBC). I don't know how this one compares to the NES version (I assume it's equally made easier), but I've been moving at a fast pace. I already have all three party members and I just got the boat, so I'm exploring the lands of the original Dragon Warrior. Very cool touch how the music changes. It's fun having multiple party members this time, although I also kind of miss the fast pace of 1-on-1 battles. Now even if you get into an easy battle (and assuming you don't want to run away), it takes a decent chunk of time just to assign three characters and kill all of the enemies. I doubt a Dragon Quest will ever be listed among my top RPG favorites, but they're still fun enough.

I haven't gotten much farther in Dragon Warrior II via the Dragon Warrior I & II compilation on my Game Boy Advance SP. I just explored all of Alefgard except for the Dragonlord's castle.
I started up Me & My Katamari on PSP again to work on finishing off the last few things I wanted to do. I beat all three 2D stages, including getting a size big enough on each for the King to call my katamaris large. I also got 100 points on the Dolphin stage finally. The only thing left at this point is several S-ranks. I went through the final stage, aiming to collect the smallest things possible at all times in order to maximize my number of items (and, in turn, hopefully maximize my various scores). I did improve some of my S-ranks and earned a couple I didn't have before, but I'm still missing, I think, seven of them. And I honestly don't care. Nobody really knows what is worth what for the most part, so the only way I could attempt to get these is to waste a bunch of time hoping I'll randomly get lucky. To heck with that.

Lords of Shadow. Replayed through the game on Paladin, got all trials, life, light, and shadow crystals. Platinum. Easily one of my favorite PS3 games. I usually don't go for a platinum unless the games are that good and this is one of these games.
While the game would be nothing without the gameplay, one of my favorite parts about the game are actually the graphical detail. It's no Oblivion, but everywhere in the game is to a massive scale. You might start on ground level and then scale the inside and outside of a tower, or the side of a castle, etc. The camera would then pan and it just gives you really see how much of a distance you've travelled.
The only bad things about the game is the advancement in some areas due to the camera, which while the camera is mostly good, sometime it makes it difficult to find where to go or makes secret areas completely out of view and it's pretty much luck in order to find them. The other is the framerate. The game struggles to keep a framerate of 30fps during combat. Most of the time outside of combat it'll be running 30fps, but there are some areas that it's noticeable frame rate issues like the entrance to the library mid/late game(but once you get inside it clears up.)
If you have yet to pick up the game, 360 or PS3 then I'd recommend it. Although like I've heard with Star Ocean the Last Hope for the 360, if you are going back and forth between different locations, you'll have to swap discs depending on the location.
Lately I've been hooked on Plants vs. Zombies and Rayman.
Dr. Mario is always a staple for me though, I can't sleep if I can't get past level 21 on high at least a few times :).

I made some decent progress in Dragon Warrior II via the Dragon Warrior I & II compilation on my Game Boy Advance SP. I cleared the DracoLord's Castle, and then I cleared the Lighthouse, getting the first seal. And now I have no clue where to go, haha. I wish the NPCs gave just a tiny bit more direction. It's like the whole game is: "Find other two party members ... ??? ... Kill Hargon" Too bad the World Map barely has any detail. I'm happy to have it now, but I wouldn't have minded having to scroll the screen just a little to have it a tiny bit bigger and more detailed. Well, regardless, I guess I'll just randomly sail to areas and islands I've yet to visit and hope the enemies don't cream me.

I was starting to feel a little burnt out on Dragon Warrior II via the Dragon Warrior I & II compilation on my Game Boy Advance SP, since it was I was just doing circles around the world map over and over as I'd find one item that would allow me to get another item somewhere else and so on, but now I'm finally back to doing some dungeons. I cleared the Lune Tower relatively easily (although I did get wiped out once thanks to those stupid Evil Clowns), and now I'm working on the volcanic sea cave. I've cleared most of the Cave of Rhone now, and with the good experience in there, I've been gaining a bunch of levels. Some of the monsters are a pretty serious threat, though. There was one battle where it was an absolute miracle that I survived. I only had the Princess, with barely any MP, but I was just barely able to kill the enemies before she would die. Then I was able to use my WorldLeaf to revive the Prince of Cannock and get the hell out of there.

If this is toned down from on NES, then I don't even want to know how it was in the original. Thank goodness both the Prince of Cannock and the Princess have revive spells now. But they don't really help when an enemy casts Defeat and it works on every character, grrr. But I did make it to the shrine, and I was surprised to see that I could both save and heal there. I figured the game would've been an ass and make me trek through the Cave of Rhone every time. I'm glad I was wrong. Now to just make my way to Hargon's castle.

I haven't posted in the game completion updates section on the count of playing mostly RPGs lately. I've gotten quite far into Final Fantasy on NES today. Got the class upgrades and beat the fire fiend then went around upgrading spells. Fighter, Thief, Blackbelt, Red Mage was my selection. The game seems to be going by quite easily still, killing off bosses within a couple turns as that Blackbelt is quite a beast when fighting unarmed. In fact he always deals more damage than the Fighter with the best sword equipped.

I'm in the home stretch in Dragon Warrior II via the Dragon Warrior I & II compilation on my Game Boy Advance SP now. I beat Hargon, but apparently there's a surprise final boss. Given the first game, though, I was expecting two parts to the final battle. Sidoh's kicking my butt pretty good, so I'm going to boost my levels a tiny bit. I didn't gain much of anything in Hargon's Castle since, surprisingly, it's really small and straightforward and the mini-bosses weren't so bad. I guess the Cave of Rhone was the real final dungeon, while Hargon's Castle is just a gauntlet of bosses.

I haven't updated my playing in a fair bit, but I've been dabbling in a lot.
First off, I finally beat Dragon Warrior II via the Dragon Warrior I & II compilation on my Game Boy Advance SP. Since I did so with the first game, I'm trying to do everything with this game. I maxed out my levels, and I'm trying to get at least one of every item. But that blasted Gold Card is a huge pain in my side since it can only be acquired by getting the best/rarest winning combination (three suns) with the slot machine. I have 14 Slot Tokens saved up, and I've been reloading to blow through them over and over. I just can't seem to hit that jackpot. This is the kind of situation where it's so stupidly random that you practically shouldn't bother without save states. But that's not an option for me anyway, so I'll keep trying for now.
I picked up two more Nintendo 64 imports - Doraemon 2 and Puyo Puyo Sun 64. Doraemon, just like the first one, kinda sucks, but Puyo Puyo is great fun as expected. I've already beaten all three single-player stories (easy with Draco, normal with Arle, and hard with Schezo), and I poked around in the other modes. Too bad none of the gamers I know would be interested in competing. I overall stink at Puyo Puyo, though, and have to continue a ton, but I am getting better. First time I beat Arle's mode I used 47 continues, then I dropped to 34, and then to 21. Still haven't managed to beat the bonus Carbuncle battle (only one attempt is allowed per game), so I have no idea if that affects the ending or what.
I also recently got copies of Lunar and Lunar 2 for PlayStation. Tested both to make sure they're working fine. I've already beaten the first twice in the past, but the sequel is new to me. Funny how it actually seems less sophisticated and modernized than the original's remake in some ways.
Finally, I knew I had been saving the last quest in Solatorobo on DS for a reason. I just reviewed it for a magazine, so doing that quest was the perfect refresher. I didn't save its completion, though, since I want to run through it again picking the options I skipped to see if those make any difference. It was definitely a long one and feels like a final goodbye to the game, since you go to practically every island to speak with every character that played some importance to the story.

Well, that was weird. I played through the normal difficulty story mode in Puyo Puyo Sun 64 on Nintendo 64 again, and I don't know if I've finally found a Puyo Puyo groove or what but I blew through the mode like nothing, using only two continues. And if that wasn't strange enough, for some reason I didn't get the Carbuncle battle like in all the times before. I know I didn't change the difficulty in the Option menu or anything like that, so I don't know what happened. Maybe you actually have to use a certain amount of continues to trigger the Carbuncle battle? That would be kind of backwards logic, though.
I played the final quest in Solatorobo: Sore kara CODA e again on DS, and I saved after completing it. I guess I've officially done everything now, short of starting a "new game+" and get the few extras it has (well, and fully opening my customization grid, buying one of every part, and maxing out a couple bars in the library). I also discovered that I had two bonus songs waiting for me as a reward for completing my song collection.
And I finally retired Dragon Warrior I & II from my Game Boy Advance SP case. Even though it was a huge pain in the butt and I contemplated giving up on it, I finally landed the Gold Card in Dragon Warrior II's slot game. Whoopty-doo, though, considering I have more gold than I know what to do with and don't have anything I need to buy (even ignoring the fact that I've completed the game too).

I got an urge to play Dino Crisis since I never finished it as a kid, and I'm having fun with it. Ammo is extremely scarce which both frustrates and delights me.
I accidently gave that game away, and now that I've read this, I really do miss that game. Time for Amazon searching again...
I haven't been able to play any games recently due to work and school, but I'm about to get back into
- Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 (GB)
- Final Fantasy III (SNES)
- Super Mario RPG (SNES)
- Phantasy Star IV (Genesis)
I've done a little with DWM2 already. I might bog myself down with that many. Maybe just one at a time would be best...

Been playing the hell out of Infamous until end of last week. Now that I've finally got the Platinum, I picked up my old copy of COD:MW2... Still fun

Ok who ever mods here please fix the issues of this forum not loading half the time and in some topics I post things and never goes through.
It's so annoying to have forums not usable more than half the time. This is the 15th time I tried to just post in this topic all day. Fucking annoying.
Anyway finishing up Zelda Wind Waker then going to replay Ys Chronicles
