Nobody cares, but now that I'm a cherry, I want the next fruit...

Today, I treated myself to some arcade games: Elevator Action II, King of Fighters '97, Bust a Move Again EX (didn't like it as a part of the series), Metal Slug X (liked it as a part of the series).

I spent the morning with the Dreamcast. I played Evolution 2 until I died, Gunbird 2 until it got monotonous, and Soldier of Fortune until it got too difficult. The train level was extremely tough.

I spent the evening with the Xbox. I finally cracked Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom because I have to review it for work. It's fun, and THQ finally redeemed themselves in my eyes. I still have nightmares about the sluggish controls and grainy graphics in Return of the Flying Dutchman. Night sweats, even! :eek 2:

Oh, and I might get the hang of Chu-Chu Rocket on the GBA soon...

A friend of mine came over today..
First we played Turtles in Time (Set-up in the Tekken 3 machine)..but didn't finish the game...ShellShock
Then we had an extensive game of Marvel Super Heroes/(set-up in the MVS Candy) ...he never played the game before and was pulling off combo moves like no tomorrow..
We really went at it...until he went home..

I must say..damn I regret not buying CPS2 stuff before..well Capcom Arcade stuff at least...
I really like the game and it looks incredible in the Candy cab,it's fast too....

I picked up Darkstalker CPS2..anyone like that game..

I JUST beat Suikoden III last night... finally! Just over 50 hours, all 108 stars, special ending and all. Took about 3 weeks total... absolutely plowed through it.

Time for a change of pace with the semester starting to pickup, so I need short period games, and Prince of Persia is gonna fit the bill perfectly.

As much as I wanted to play Metal Arms tonight I/we never got around to it..
My friend Ron came over..
First off we started playing Tekken 3 then started playing Final Arch/Baseball ..I was winning 9-3 and he made an incredible comeback to beat me 10-9..
We were going to play Baseball Stars 2 but then started playing 8 Man..
He didn't like it much so he cycled through the games and saw Shock Troopers..
Oh,man he went nuts,he really liked the look of this game..
We played Shock Troopers to the end and were pretty beat for anything else.
Tomorrow he's coming over to play ..

I can't stop playing Counter Strike on the Xbox. Every night I tell myself I'm gonna sit down and get some work done, and then boom, it's 12:30 and Im still playing CS. I have FFX-2 in the PS2 and Tenchu3, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and Splinter Cel 1/2 way done and mocking me. Max Payne 2 and manhunt are on deck, I got them for Xmas and haven't even opened them yet.

I played a nice cheating round of Serious Sam (Xbox) last night. I love the ending when he says "I'm heading right toward ya, nothing can make me stray from that path. Oh, and one more thing, I'm coming for YOU!" while talking into a Phone Booth Confession Booth. That's a seriously funny game. I'm psyched about the Game Cube game coming our and the sequel to the Xbox one later on. Serious Sam fricking ROCKS! Duke Nukem can kiss my ass forever.

I'm going to sell the MK board etc from the Cabriolet and make it into a Mini Neo Geo 1 slot..
I have most of what I need already to do it..A little project.

I put the two machines in storage until next week..I need to make some room for them..

The Vendor I met today gave me so many boxes of wires and harnesses for free that It was like going to the Auction..

I think the best thing that came about all of it today was all the screws and nuts that I took out off that Print machine..
I needed some for the candy cab and that machine had them..(for the control panel etc..)

Yesterday, I focused on Dreamcast, PS1, and Genesis. I played Paperboy and Rampage on Midway's GH Vol. 2 and finally tried House of the Dead 2 on the DC. I played around with my trackball controller on Blockids and Quake II on the PS1. I tried to get into Dune 2000, but it's just too slow! I finally hooked up the Genny 2 and played El Viento, Ghouls & Ghosts, Ms. Pac-Man, Pac Jr. (on Pac-Man 2), Robocop vs. Terminator, and Rocket Knight Adventures. I need to hit the thrifts for more Genesis games!

This weekend, I took out the old NES and played Darkwing Duck, some Bubble Bobble, some Popeye and The Legend of Zelda (I didn't remember the second quest being that hard.

On the Mac, I played a short bout of several Bungie games: Abuse, Marathon and Pathways into Darkness. Abuse is interesting: it's a side-scolling shooter in which you use the mouse to aim and click in order to shoot at enemies (believe me, an iBook mouse is not the ideal way to go!). And Marathon, for those who aren't familiar with the game, is a trilogy of FPS set in a sci-fi setting. I've heard that there are references to Marathon in Halo, which would make sense (same developer). This is an example where the Mac OS is better for backwards compatibility than Windows: these games were made for system 7 and OS 8 (circa 1993-1996). I had no problem whatsoever running them with Jaguar (OS X 10.2) via the Classic (OS 9.2) emulator. Try playing most games made for Win 95 or 98 on XP!
