Nearing the end of :
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines
Defenitely one of the most enjoyable RPGs I've played this year. The melding of rpg elements and fast paced action is excellent. Just had tons of fun running around with blinding speed, hitting people with a katana so hard that they litterally flew across the room, then leaping at a poor victim left alive and ripping a chunk out of his neck ;D. I've done most of the quests in Chinatown and should be able to wrap this game up tomorrow and work through ICO.

I had to stop a while back because i was having some issues with my computer not wanting to work like it should. This is a bitching game by the way.

I guess I should catch up on all I've been playing since my last post. :)
I did finally manage to beat Wario Blast, which was quite a powerful moment after not being able to beat it all these years (other than Tetris, which came with my brick Game Boy, it was the first Game Boy game I ever got). I died more times than I want to remember, but slowly I developed an amazing, precise strategy that beats anything you'll find on GameFAQs about it. The strategy was so good that I easily beat the game a second time right after that with the other character (to see how the endings differed).
I also beat Tail 'Gator, and surprisingly, area 3 seemed to be the pinnacle of the game's difficulty. Once I finally beat the bird boss, I blew through the rest.
Then I beat Aladdin on Game Boy. It too I was never able to beat as a kid. I'd always get close to the end of the game and reach a point where I couldn't figure how the hell to progress in the stage and I'd attack a bird near this part and the game would just crash (really crappy programming :/ ). For some reason, I didn't run into this problem at all this time. I think, as a kid, I didn't have the patience to stick around on the magic carpets so I never discovered that in some parts you just have to sit and wait and eventually it'll move on to a new part of the stage. It's a pretty crappy game (but half tolerable if you're looking for a watered down version of the Genesis game with sloppy controls), but I'm glad to finally beat that one too.
Then I moved onto Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Footclan. Pretty easy game, so it didn't take much effort to beat it. Shredder kicked my butt a few times, though.
And now I'm working on Dexterity and Battle Arena Toshinden. I'm getting pretty close to having all my b/w Game Boy games beaten. :)
Other than my old school Game Boy escapades, I've been playing a little bit of Castlevania here and there: Castlevania on GBA, Rondo of Blood via an emulator (since I still don't have a Turbo Duo :( ), and Dracula X on SNES (thanks to a very kind online friend who sent me his cart for free). I actually tried out a whole ton of Turbo Grafx games the other day when my boyfriend downloaded a buttload of ROMs and hooked up the PC to the TV. I can't really get into games via emulation, but it's nice to give a bunch of games a try to help with future purchasing decisions.
And finally, my Game Gear and NGPC lots from eBay arrived, and I tried out Defenders of Oasis, Indiana Jones, Mortal Kombat, OutRun Europa, Sonic 2, Streets of Rage 2, The Lucky Dime Caper, Baseball Stars Color, and Cardfighter's Clash. However, when I popped in Shining Force, my Shining Force addiction kicked in, so I ended up playing through the whole game. :P Twas great fun. :) I'll have to replay someday and get the secret characters.

Just got finished with a long afternoon of gaming. Started out with SSX3 on Xbox then played hours of PSO on the Dreamcast....then opened up a sealed (GASP!!) copy of Razor Freestyle Scooter and played it and Trickstyle on the DC.
Switched back to Xbox and played Dave Mirra 2. What a piece of shit. Didn't Acclaim have anyone who could beta test?
Tonight I'll most likely resume with some more PSO on DC, or some GTA on PSP.

I'm still playing Fire Emblem for the Gameboy Advance. I'm on Chapter 20, I think. I'm trying to finish this game up before Dragon Quest VIII comes out, otherwise I may never finish it.
Also, I've been checking out the Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 that I bought the other day.
Also, I have a new copy of Gunstar Super Heroes sitting here that is begging to be played but is probably going to be put on the backlog.

Today at school I played some more Dexterity and Battle Arena Toshinden on Game Boy. I got up to about stage 18 in Dexterity. The problem with the game is that most of the lives I lost were all at once. I'd end up taking too long on a stage, the enemies would speed up when the time got low, and I'd keep losing all my lives until I lost a full continue. When you just lose a life, you respawn in the center of the stage with everything left the same. While this is helpful in that you don't have to start over, the enemies STAY super fast, so I immediately lose the rest of my lives too. Not until I use up a continue does the stage reset. Next time I'll have to try and see if I can dodge the enemies until the time runs out. I assume I'll just lose one life and then get to start the stage all over.
In Toshinden, I picked normal difficulty and Kayin and proceeded to get my butt kicked repeatedly on the last couple guys. I never did end up beating the game with him. I find it exceptionally difficult to get anything to come out with the crappy SP d-pad, and I just suck at fighters in general. I'll keep practicing, though. :)
Oh, and I played a tiny bit of GBA Castlevania just to kill some time.

Genji- Received it in the mail from Gamefly yesterday (it's nice living like 20 minutes away from Inglewood, the city they ship out of).
About an hour and a half into this game, and so far I'm loving it. Great setting and feel. So glad they chose to kept Japanese dialouge in there with english subtitles (more games should follow suit, or at least give the option). It's especially nice, sense I'm currently studing the language, and being able to understand bits and pieces of what they say is neato burrito. I hear the game is short, but damn it's a lot of fun so far. More then likely pick up this game when I see it for a good price.
Gungrave Overdose- On chapter 3 I believe. Finally getting a hang of the controls and camera, was tough at first. Great style and action, fun stuff.
Castlevania: CoD should be arriving in the mail today (gamefly), hoping it at least keeps me entertained through a full playthough. I wasn't terribly impressed at the demo I played at E3, environments seemed really bland. I've been hearing the same from the reviews and such too.

while using a linux machine today i saw they had this galaga clone so i gave it a few quick goes - dissapointing but made me want to go back to that pub which has a cocktail galaga machine
Bomberman Hardball - PS2
one of my flatmates bought this today so we gave it a go, a few short games of bomberman and then we tried the sports. We played 10 long holes of golf before the music finally drove us mad and we played:
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks - PS2
Played quite a bit actually, its not that bad of a game although i'm just waiting until he unlocked MKII in it.
Sonic Pinball Party - GBA
tried out the Nights table for once, its not bad, different play style than the sonic one although i think not as deep
Le Mans 24 Hours - Dreamcast
completed the winter championship meaning i've now completed all the championships, woo, now on to Le Mans mode or wait till i get a new vmu and i can start a different racer
Samurai Spirits - NGCD
Was trying out the Neo4all emulator on the dreamcast so gave this a quick go - it was nice and i will definitely put some more time into it. I like the pacing of this game.
Fatal Fury 2 - NGCD
Tried this out on the emu as well, only a couple of rounds with Terry, seems a lot weaker game than SS and well, i thought the whole 2 battle planes would be more interesting, but i guess i should give this another go with more characters anyway
What's Shenmue? - Dreamcast
Had to pop this in as i recently got it. Didn't feel like actually playing through the Shenmue parts so just played about with the 4 face demos for quite a while. The graphics are still really impressive in this and i was amused to see that Mark spoke English whilst the other 3 Japanese.

Today I've been playing a few games off and on but hasn't gotten into anything real seriously. My son and I played a few rounds of Beetle Adventure Racing for the Nintendo 64 earlier and he of course whooped my ass. Tried out a couple of new games I picked up yesterday. WarioLand II for the original Gameboy was an absolute blast to play. I beat a few stages in that just trying to get a sense of the play mechanics and whatnot. I can see that game getting heavy play time later on. Tried out Dragon Warrior III for the Game Boy Color but after playing the original on the NES this one just did not have that "feel" and I put it back on the shelf. I tried out Bonk's Adventure and Marble Madness both for the original GameBoy and gave them quick test runs. Tonight I am going to try to play through some more Fire Emblem if time allows.
Playing that first Dreamcast RPG, Evolution: World Of Sacred Device. It got crappy reviews, but maybe because it's more of a random generating dungeon crawler than an RPG. I'm liking it so far.

Yesterday I finished up Fahrenheit. Its an excellent game but the plot twists near the end get ridiculous
Tonight we had an N64 night in my flat. We still haven't got the final 2 controllers we need so we had to make do with 4 dual shocks, a usb multitap and an emulator. Had great fun with these games:
F-Zero X
Super Smash Bros
Mario Tennis
Mario Golf
Destruction Derby 64
Mostly played F-Zero which is still blindingly fast. Only played 1 hole of golf and 3 sets of tennis but they were great fun. Smash Bros was a laugh as always and the Bomb Tag mode on Destruction Derby was actually pretty fun. Now we just need to get 2 more proper controllers and we would be playing on the actual machine. Or if the multitap we had worked on the PStwo we would of just played Bomberman and ProEvo, which are still good but the N64 is unstoppable as a 4 player machine
I've been playing a mix of games.

Beat Genji, loved it to pieces. Took me around 6:15 to beat it.
Started playing Castlevania: CoD, not as bad as I was expecting, still the areas are all very similiar. The I.D.s are kinda fun to mess with, story is passable so far. About 1:45 into this.
Gungrave: Overdose-On chapter 3, love the attack moves, so much style.

Biaten Kaitos Damn it I wish bannanas would last longer. I've never had a bannana go from green to ripe to bad in 2 hours. Damn VG bannanas.

I've only been playing Zoo Keeper on my DS...I got addicted to the Quest Mode...I do need to get back to Nintendogs. I've only played it once and that was over a week ago. My puppy has probably starved to death by now.
On the GameCube I've mostly been playing Animal Crossing with an occasional game of MVP Baseball 2004 thrown in. My team (Pirates) is now about 41-0, I think.
