Atari VCS / 2600 - Starmaster - was testing out a WICO stick I picked up today and it also gave me a chance to see if that VCS I got for 50 cents a couple weeks ago worked. Ended up playing Starmaster because it's one of my few boxed VCS games and I didn't want to dig out my boxes of VCS carts. (nearly did before I remembered the few complete games on the shelf)

Genesis - Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon (JPN) - testing a Genesis 2 I modded for US/JPN functionality the other day, works fine, up for sale in my Buying & Selling thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66944). Ended up playing through the whole game again while waiting for curling coverage to begin yesterday afternoon.

Cool Cool Toon - Dreamcast
How good is this game? Completed story mode with Amp and then discovered single flitz mode which is basically like an arcade mode. Tried it with loads of characters and it seems to give you different songs. You have to win 5 stages. Only managed this with one character. There's this one song which keeps popping up which has this one bit I can't do...

Virtua Tennis - Dreamcast
Was just going to have a quick go on Arcade mode which I completed (woo!) with Henman but then decided to see what the World Tour mode was about, and it is fun, all sorts of games. I might be heading back to this one again sometime.
As a side note - I find it very cool how you can play the entire game on the VMU screen, it even changes view when you change it ingame. Thats impressive.

I just started playing Fable: The Lost Chapters on the XBox. Well, I am not a fan of RPG's, so I never buy/play them. Just so happened I picked it up a few days ago because I was in the mood for an RPG, who knows why... Anyway, I played it straight for 8 hours the first day I got it. Played again yesterday for another 4 hours. Damn I am hooked on this game. I love it. I am stuck on some parts/quests so I may end up getting the walk through. Not playing RPGs I have been able to figure out a lot on my own as well. Like making mass amounts of money. But the game is very colorful and pleasant to look at, the controls are easy except when switching spells, can be a bitch when your pressed for time in a battle. Have to work on the eye coordination thing. Oh well. Any tips would be much appreciated :D. If you have played this send me a PM, I have a few questions.

So I played the Catalunya National track for about 45 minutes on time trial until I finally beat the goal time. Then I spend about an hour on the Catalunya Grand Prix track but still am half a second away from the goal time. I feel like the car is just on the edge of falling apart the speed/way I am flinging it round some of these corners. Its gonna be a tough push another day to crack this one.

Stuff I'm working on:

Gamecube - Metroid Prime 2

Great game so far, just as enjoyable as the first. I killed this big worm boss and got the dark suit, and was traveling to the next area, but couldn't find a save point. I joined my family for a movie and just shut it off since I couldnt five a place to save, so I may be doing that battle again.

Gamecube - Killer 7

Playing through Killer 8 mode. Young Harman and his tommy gun are pretty damn fun. Only way I ever hit the damn weakspots is with the tommy gun, since they're invisible. Almost to the Cloudman chapter.

And the first time in almost a year....I played my genesis! Yes, even though I'm nearing completion on the library, I hadn't played it since May of last year. Loaded up:

Sonic Spinball
Vectorman
Vectorman 2

Sonic Spinball was damn fun. I rented it once when I had my first genesis and remembered quite a bit of it. I beat the first boss, then got kinda lost on the lava board.

Vectorman I've NEVER played, even though I knew all about it back when it came out, and I must say it's quite excellent. Great graphics, awesome music and sound, and lots of fun shooter / platform gameplay. Played through the first few levels in each one and they rocked.

Either area 6 of Boxxle is a lot easier than area 5 or I must've gotten into the Boxxle groove (if there is such a thing, hehe) because I blew through area 6 in comparison to area 5. I've yet to attempt any of the levels in area 7, but they look pretty annoying. o_O

In Legend of the River King, I've found a couple more fish I had been missing, so I'm getting closer to having them all. I also caught a few more record-sized fish.

Oh, and the last time I posted I forgot to mention I had given Return Fire on PlayStation a try for the very first time with my boyfriend and his brother. Very goofy game, hehe. :) I can see why it's such a popular multiplayer game.

Super Producers
Le Mans 24 Hours
4 Wheel Thunder

I don't get Super Producers at all, the concept is good - be a pop star producer, but the loading in between menus is horrible and I don't get how time passes and when stuff happens. It would help if it was in English but since most of the menus are in English anyway I feel it is simply an awful game and I might as well play Project Rockstar (http://www.projectrockstar.com) on the net instead.

Managed to beat that time trial lap I was struggling with the other day on Le Mans and had a go and failed at a coupla different courses. Fired up 4 Wheel Thunder again to get further in the Championship, its wierd, half the tracks I can finish 1st no problem and the other half I find it nearly impossible to reach the 4th place required to proceed...

I've allowed my 4 1/2 year old to start playing "big boy" video games a little more often. To HIM it's "big boy" but to you it's N64. LOL He's started with Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing and his MOST favorite game.....Beetle Adventure Racing. More Legend of the River King for me. A few more new fish (eels!) and a few more "BIG" ones. I've been playing this so much that I've maxed out my gold. o_O I wonder what the HP maxes out on. I've become so obsessed that I bought River King for N64 (Nushi Tsuri 64). :) The fish look SO impressive for N64; they use 500 (!) polygons on average for each fish. Can't wait to give it a try. I was also surprised to see how far this series stretches back. I assumed it had started on Game Boy, but it actually goes all the way back to the Famicom with entries on tons of different systems (even PC Engine). And the new PS2 title is being localized for the US. :)

Anyway, to get back on subject, I also played some random PlayStation games from the big lot I bought. I think I may have to pop in Skydiving Extreme for another go, haha.

PS2 - Sega Classics Collection (Virtua Racing Flat Out, Space Harrier, OutRun), I was bored so I played Virtua Racing for awhile as I often do but ended up playing Space Harrier and a few times through OutRun.

Saturn - Sankyo Fever-S Jikki Simulation (JPN), spent some more time with the pachinko controller, trying to figure out what the hell that light is for and if it's even operable. (thread about that here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=79937)) While I didn't get to the bottom of that, I did come across a machine in the game I MUST OWN. It's called Carrot Boy and has a horse racing motif. Must be from the early 90's or late 80's as while it has fever round based music and a small LED text display above the center, it doesn't feature a full LCD screen. (I know, this one will be a pain in the ass to maintain due to it being from the mechanical to digital translation phase - kind of like pinball machines)

Anyway, the center target has a jockey on a horse and when hit the horse moves and he kicks it and moves up and down. When a fever mode starts (hit one of the targets at the bottom which opens the side gates into the center target, get a ball into the middle there) the traditional horse race post music plays and a bell rings, the gates on the sides open and close, getting one in there adds bonus to the fever and advances the next round. As the fever mode runs the William Tell March plays, changing to Camp Town Races as each fever round winds down. After the last round is completed a Japanese woman's voice comes on (I'm assuming she's saying that the race is over - before and after one of those chimes that plays before announcements at Japanese horse racing venues goes off). It's nice because the fever round is frequent and easy to start. The main problem I have with most modern machines is that you spend more time watching the reels flip than playing a fever round - especially with new machines that have only one or two win pockets. I love my vintage machine (Saru Kani Kassen / Monkey-Crab Battle) but sometimes a little more action would be nice.

Considering how popular horse racing is in Japan I'm sure the machine had a rather large run. Now time to see how many of them survived and ended up stateside... LOL

Me wanting to play something but can't get around to it...

I can't even write down the amount of games my Son and Nephew have played in the last two days..

My wife bought my Son an Xbox since his doesn't load every game...Thus he has two now..(his first bought for him system)..Cool thing about it is that it has Forza motorsport in it.
.A game that I have already and is linkable..Cool..
Picked it up at Target. for $179.00..Gamestop's phone was busy everytime I called..F-Em..I weanted a system with a Service Plan but Target said (as I pushed the issue) they will replace it if it gives me problems..
I just want it to load the games that the other one doesn't..He'll use he other one mostly and I'll just put the both of them on a system selector,so he can play all he wants to play..(without problems)
Since my Xbox controllers broke.. I got a Wireless Xbox Controller from Blockbuster for $16.99....... and the two games for $22.00 in total...(used my gift card)
$14.99 for Metroid Echoes..then I see it new in Target for $20.00
I sure hope this Wireless Xbox Controller works ok... x_x

Boxxle is moving at quite a nice pace now. I relatively easily blew through half of area 7 yesterday, and I wasn't even playing for long. Maybe I've finally gotten over the "hump", so to speak, in this game. When I first started playing it, it seemed insanely difficult to me, and as I progressed, I got better but the difficulty kept increasing so it just never let up. Now I think the difficulty is balancing out a little between areas 5-7, and my brain is finally getting accustomed to the game and recognizing what moves can and can't be made (and I notice mistakes more quickly too). It's still far from being easy, but at least now I can relax and have a bit more fun with it, not getting stuck on one level forever and getting mentally exhausted.

In Legend of the River King, I found shrimp and holy cow... these are the HARDEST things in the whole game to catch. The fish to catch to beat the game was a cinch, no more difficult than any other fish, but so far I've only managed to catch one shrimp. It's such a crazy tug-of-war with these guys, and eventually, they always get away from me, stealing my bait and hook (speaking of which, it was a huge pain just to find something they'd bite, since it seems like the ONLY thing they like is worms). Or if they don't steal it, all the stress of the battle on the line results in a broken hook. :/ Sheesh, such a pain in the butt. Hopefully the next time I play I'll do better.

Final Fight One - GBA
I get stuck on level 3, its really annoying as it wastes my lives/credits as level 4 I can get through easily and have hardly any lives left to tackle level 5 properly which has meant I've only met the boss once so far. I will persist with this though.

Psyvariar 2 - DC
My 2nd Dreamcast shooter after Ikaruga. First impressions are minimal options and worse graphics, music a bit funny also. I like the gameplay though - the way you have to graze all the bullets. I've set continues to off which means I haven't made it past area 2 but keep getting better and the beginning bits which means I keep getting a harder area 2 to face also. I always forget there is a smart bomb, which wont help as I don't usually die because I can't cope but because i'm trying to get too close to bullets whilst keeping the damn ship moving to keep it in that spinning mode. A stick rather than a d-pad would be really nice for this game.

Rez - DC
Now I have a real copy I get to see the ending. The Punk visuals in beyond mode are crazy. This game amazes me still.

Tokyo Highway Challenge 2 - DC
I loved the first game and have wanted this for a long time. It impresses me although at the moment I'm into track racers more so don't know how much I'm going to play this - I might just stick to Le Mans 24 Hours for now...

Got Stuck in game..Then I passed where I was stuck..Got stuck again, really stuck and the enemy helicopter I just could not take out crashed(got snagged on a tree) by mistake and I won the mission..(game thought I destroyed the helicopter)

Next mission I'm so stuck that I don't think I'll get no further,so I started to play the enjoyable missions over to do better in them and climb the ranks..

Psyvariar 2
Ikaruga

Gave Psyvariar 2 a go but after a few tries still couldn't get past area 2 and was getting worse so whilst my monitor was on its side thought I'd give Ikaruga another go. Used a few more credits than I'd have liked due to lack of practice and that stupid snake boss of level 5. Then went back to Psyvariar 2 (which i refuse to turn continues on for, unlike Ikaruga, for some reason) and after a while a revelation in my thought processes happened, I decided to not try and spin and bullet dodge on bosses - and straight away I jumped from area 2 to the boss of area 4. I feel another breakthrough about to happen as I've just realised that when you level up you become invincible for awhile - this game is getting better and better. I'm even thinking of ordering Radilgy and Under Defeat to continue my Dreamcast shmup playing. Lots of monitor rotating in the future then...

I think I'm hopelessly stuck in Boxxle again. :/ I beat all of area 7 except for one level, and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

In Legend of the River King, I found all the fish (46; I was expecting 48 since that's how many an FAQ said there were) and I unlocked Fun Lake as a result. I checked it out, but I didn't bother to do any fishing there since once you have every fish in the game, what's the point? I definitely don't need the money, and even if you get a record-breaking fish there, it won't record in the memo. Now I'm just casually trying to get record-breaking fish for the ones I'm still missing.

playing Triple Action for the intellivision right now, kind of rediscovered it after all these years, i thought they were three different games because i was young and it was so long ago,

also playing Ducati world racing for ps1, sort of gives me an idea on whether tourist trophy by polyphony will interest me or not.

I have a crazy urge to play my MVS cabs today...I just played for like an hour Tecmo World Soccer 96.But I can't score that much though I won 3 games straight..
The computer gets hard like it's saying..Get this dude off this cab playing all these free games.. :D
Then I cleaned and popped in Goal,Goal,Goal..That game I can score in a lot and I like it a lot more then Tecmo World Soccer 96..
I like the small screen that shows me where my teammates are..
As soon as I'm settled at the track with the Pocket Bikes .. I'm going to start buying MVS carts again....Starting off with the Soccer games I don't have,..

Americas Army

I have yet to play any missions..I've been doing all the training tutorials etc that I say are quite impressive..(Well detailed to explanation of a weapons use)

The sneaking around in Sniper Mode has been the hardest so far..I passed it but not as well as I wanted to..I think I can do it much faster no that I know where I need to go(I get lost)

Destroy All Humans. Lots of fun but it could use more side missions.
