Oblivion (X360)- And got to get my daily dose of this drug :D
Videogamedaryll- Well haven't played the single player yet but online mode rocks, it's quite addicting. But don't know how it compares as I never bought the current-gen title, only saw my brother play the PS2 version a couple times online. But the use of tanks and vehicles is awesome X_x :)

I found a game on the Xbox HD in Arcade called HEXIC..It's a puzzler that's quite addicting.
Written by Alexey Pazhitnov actually, a few years ago for MSN Games.
In an attempt to make better use of space I turned my subwoofer onto it's side, and after removing the casters from the 1970's era stereo rack I use for most of my "connected" systems, I set it atop the subwoofer. I've sat on the subwoofer a few times and even fully loaded that rack doesn't weigh as much as me so it should be fine. It's really not a true subwoofer anyway, the L and R front speakers patch through it, so it sits between them and their connection to the 5.1 reciever. That means I don't have to worry about vibration all that much.
Well since I had to disconnect everything to remove the systems so I could turn the rack on its side to remove the casters, I rerouted most of the cables (were pretty clean to begin with) which meant it was time for a test play of each. So...
Darius Gaiden - Saturn
Lords of Thunder - TurboDuo
Palamedes - NES
Puzzle Star Sweep - PlayStation
Sonic Mega Collection - GameCube
Fantavision - PlayStation 2
Sonic CD - JVC X'Eye
Amazingly it was all good, not mysterious bad connection anywhere. LOL Now it's time to make good use of the extra square foot I gained by moving the subwoofer.

The angle makes it look top heavy but it's solid.

Yeah, I can't leave anything alone, that's actually a Jet (Black) launch GameCube. Back in early 2003 it was something like two o'clock in the morning and I came across a page of GameCube paint mods and the crazy prices people were paying and the long delays and so forth. "I can paint that" I said to myself. So yes, at 2am I disassembled my GameCube and looked at what paint I had lying around - sun yellow. I've always liked black and yellow since it gives an industrial type look so that was that. Even better the disassembly would be less since I was only going to paint the upper shell. So by about three in the morning I was outside spraying my GameCube yellow. LOL I'm one of the people that REALLY wanted the Spice (Orange) GameCubes to be released in the US, and this was close enough - something different like the Spice GameCube.
While I had it open I also replaced the LED...

The stripes were just something I did to break things up, I didn't put much thought into them. I've been thinking of removing the yellow stripes on the lid for awhile and going back and redoing it tightly cross striped (like the switchplate for my lights out here). I probably won't ever do it though, just because of the hassle of taking the lid off, stripping off the paint, repainting it, and reattaching the lid (I dunno if I was just tired or what but it took about 45 minutes to figure out how the gears fit back together). Most people christened it the hornet GameCube. LOL
Most of the systems there have something done to them. The Saturn has a US/JPN switch, the PlayStation has a mod chip, GC paint job, and the JVC X'Eye has a US/JPN switch for the cartridge slot. I haven't ever painted another GameCube but I've done a few Dreamcast's including the infamous SailorDreamcast, here's an old picture of that...
http://www.startoursinfo.com/junk/DP-SailorDreamcast01.jpg
...that's before it had the internals put back in and no Dreamcast emblem. I'll probably do a Saturn next, I have a very interesting idea somewhat related to the GameCube but completely different. Next Saturn I get will probably end up taking that paint mod. (don't want to give the idea away though) I also have one more DC paint mod I've designed (I have a DC template I made for MGX Designer 7 so I can draw a rough sample of mods) but it'll be somewhat complex so I haven't jumped in on it yet.

Candy Cab..
My Dad comes over:as he walks in he says Wow that machine looks great there(in my kitchen now),So I proceed to show him the Games in the cab today..
He never got around to playing but that gets us in Arcade machine buys and other gaming talk..I try to keep my dad interested in gaming, and I can go on all day showing him games...My Son played the cab then just left it on..
Then I showed my Dad the 360 games and he was very impressed.G.R.A.W/COD2/FULL AUTO,plus BLACK on the Xbox...& Explaining to him about online play,I think he was a bit overwhelmed but excited about it.
IMO if my dad was a bit younger with more time he'd be online playing games like COD2..
I really didn't play the games,I just ran through them showing him the basics..But he was very interested in learning the controls that are a bit mind-blowing compared to a Atari 2600 Controller. :P

Er, so tonight I "played" Real Sound - Winds of Regret on the Dreamcast. It was actually quite an enjoyable way to spend an evening. The music was nice when there was any but apart from that it was like listening to a Japanese radio drama and I don't understand Japanese, and occasionally having to make a dialogue decision, oh and the pad rumbles sometimes which startled me every time. I actually spent the time flipping through the manuals to all my Dreamcast manuals, which with this in the background was actually quite a relaxing way to pass some time

started playing Final Fantasy 9 since I've been meaning to play it since it came out. Everyone said that I'd dig it, but I was just so disappointed in Final Fantasy 7 and 8 that I couldn't bring myself to play it. Hell, I even bought it a few years ago but haven't tried it yet...
...i bought Chrono Cross at the same time with the intention of finally playing it. That's another game everyone said was fantastic, but after trying to stomach it for 3 hours, I strongly doubt I'll ever attempt to play it again.
But yea, about 2 hours into Final Fantasy 9 so far and it's somewhat interesting. I like that it's a lot more like 4-6 (aka "The Final Fantasy Games That Don't Suck") in style and then upgraded to (then) modern levels. Fantastic graphics (other than the battle frame rate, obviously), nice music, and generally the entrances and exits are pretty well defined and not overly hidden.
Let's see if it'll hold me past the 10 hour mark :)

Past few days all I've played (until tonight) was the DP forums arcade, mostly Shanghai but for once actually tried some other games, including that RaidenX which took ages to play.
Then, tonight, loaded up the Dreamcast with the monitor in TATE mode for: UNDER DEFEAT.
Its still brilliant and I played for hours. The final boss still pisses me off for exactly the same reasons although now I have some new tactics but still takes me longer to beat than the rest of the game put together many many many times. Damn him.

Was just screwing around and actually did fairly decent, 428,000 at Round 19. Well, I wasn't really trying all that much until Round 16 or so. LOL

Currently playing:
Gamecube - Metroid Prime 2
Finally getting back to this one. I was at the Larva boss in Torvus Bog FOREVER. Was kinda pissed ever since I beat the damn long ass battle and realized I missed a scan, so I kinda tossed it aside for a while. Well, beat the damn boss again tonight and made my way through most of the "Sanctuary Temple" or whatever it's called. I think I'm pretty close to the next boss, guess I'll be finding out tomorrow.
I also kind of want to finish:
PS2 - Devil May Cry 3
I'm on one of the last few chapters....like 18 or 19, so I may as well just make it through the damn thing. I'm at a pretty tough spot ATM, gotta refight every single boss in the game for one of the last two blue orb fragments I need. Then it should be the last two bosses, and finished.
Oh, and of course, always eternally playing:
PS2 - Guitar Hero
Getting a little better each time...finally beat Frankenstein and Bark at the Moon on Hard...failed at Cowboys From Hell at 98% though....=\.
I'm not too good at expert, the freaking Smoke on the Water solo killed me so I don't think I'll be venturing through that.

I've been giving the Mega CD a good session over the past few days: Silpheed, Sonic CD, Final Fight CD and Dennin Aleste.
I've also still playing Under Defeat, it's so awesome.
Also Demon Front and The Gladiator on PGM, and the odd blast on Blazing Star MVS.

I've been playing a whole bunch of different stuff, but not devoting much time to any single game in particular.
I've really been gorging myself on TwinBee lately, and I'm loving it. :) I just got three new TwinBee game in a very short period of time (I'm pretty close to having the entire series now). First, I imported Konami GB Collection Vol. 3 from some guy in the UK, which marks the very first time I purposely bought an European/PAL game (or a non-Japanese or US game, for that matter). Since it's the only way to get TwinBee Da (known as Pop'n TwinBee in the collection) in full color, I had to go with that version (the Japanese collection is different and only adds Super Game Boy support). I already beat the game, so I've been playing the other stuff on the collection too. The Goemon game is quite fun too, and it's a good European exclusive as well since it's the only version of it in English and in full color. I'm surprised at just how addictive and crazy Bikers is as well. Finally, there's Guttang Gottong, which isn't terrific, but it's still a mildly fun puzzler and reminds me of a board game I played as a child called Animal Tracks. Probably the most notable thing about it is the painfully cheesy GB MIDI rendition of "I've been working on the railroad". :P
I've been playing a tiny bit of Legend of the River King on my SP as always too, but nothing notable going on with that. I've just been too consumed by the Konami collection.
Getting back to TwinBee, I also had six new Japanese imports arrive all on the same day. :) I got TwinBee 3 for Famicom, which I beat the very next day, hehe. Talk about some whacked out bosses. I also got Square's Tom Sawyer for Famicom, which I only briefly tried. For PC Engine, I picked up Youkai Douchuuki, which drove me mad for quite some time. You see, since the controller cord of PC Engine controllers is so stupidly short, I use a multi-tap as an extension. I do this with all my games, and it's never been a problem. Now when I started up YD, I was going nuts because I just could NOT get the game to work. I was about to give up thinking the game was completely broken, and then a little idea popped into my head to try it with a different controller and without the multi-tap. Boom, worked on the first try. Yes, YD is so old-school and grizzled that the code of the game just explodes when a multi-tap is plugged in to the point that the game won't even start up. Way to consider the future Namcot. :P
Also on PC Engine, I got Susano Ou Densetsu, an RPG from Hudson. It's kinda funky and weird, but I didn't play it much.
My last two imports were for PlayStation. One is the TwinBee Deluxe Pack, which contains both Detana TwinBee (which I already had on PC Engine) and TwinBee Yahho. Playing the arcade version of Detana feels weird after getting so used to the PC Engine port, and Yahho seems really awesome (looking forward to playing more as soon as I get home :) ). The only problem is that it seems like both games are permanently in free play mode. It feels kind of pointless to play if I can just continue endlessly. The other PlayStation game I bought is Tokimeki Memorial, which I mainly bought for the TwinBee mini-game, haha. However, it is interesting to play this genre-defining game finally.

Zoo Keeper - DS
Bought this today finally and a pack of 3rd party styli as i've lost my Nintendo ones a while back. These styli have a metal body and the end is more pen like. When I got the first one out of the packet I was worried as it didn't stay in the stlyus holder in my DS, luckily the other 2 do. Anyway, Zoo Keeper, very nice game and I can get addicted to it just like I can with the Shanghai game on these forums (which i still play many times a day - perhaps time to import the DS version). On Zoo Keeper I only bother with time attack mode, the others seem stupid to me - either go on too long with no real panic or stupid quest, enough has been said about that.

NOOOOoooooooooooo..........................
321,987 points at 291 lines... Nine short of 300. The acceleration was just way too fast at the end and a couple bad moves about 20 seconds from the end cost me. Still don't think I would have broken 300 with how I was playing at the end even if I hadn't made those bad moves. While this does beat my previous totals of 268,439 points at 277 lines (yes, big points difference, I made a couple Tetris' around Level 27) it's still a slap in the face, all I want to achieve is 300 lines. :(
Finally, there's Guttang Gottong, which isn't terrific, but it's still a mildly fun puzzler and reminds me of a board game I played as a child called Animal Tracks. Probably the most notable thing about it is the painfully cheesy GB MIDI rendition of "I've been working on the railroad". :P
LOL I played the US release (Loco-Motion) to death on my Tomy Tutor. Haven't pulled my Tutor out in a long time.. hmm, might need to do that soon. Information here, Loco-Motion is all the way down near the bottom (http://www.floodgap.com/retrobits/tomy/carts.html).

I've had a day of Castlevania today. Started with the Genny version of Bloodlines and then moved on to the Arrange Mode on Castlevania Chronicles on PSone. And when I finish smoking this *ahem* roll up, I'm gonna go have a good crack on Draclula X on the DuoR.
In fact, this is going to be my Official Vampire Hunting Week.

Been playing more Konami GB Collection Vol. 3 and Legend of the River King at school, just dabbling in all the games. I made a little more progress in Goemon (which is the only game on the collection with a password system; it's also one of the stupidest password systems I've ever seen - think Castlevania, but instead of easily recognizable objects it's weird Japanese food and other crap I can't tell what the hell is supposed to be. I end up having to draw pictures with a ludicrous amount of detail for a password just to be able to identify them later on. Maybe it's easier for a Japanese person.)
At home, I played a long run of Tokimeki Memorial last night. I was attempting to beat the game in one sitting, but when it got to past 4 AM, I had to call it quits. I think I'm very close to the end, though. As repetitive as the game gets (and as many dating sims get), it's got a very soothing, relaxing nature about it, which is perfect for this time period in which my semester is about to wrap up and I have a million things on my mind and way too much work to do. I'm going after the artsy Ayako girl, at the recommendation of my boyfriend (I showed him the manual, and he picked out the one with the biggest bust measurement, haha, short of the kinda secret floozy girl who's really hard to get). She's a pretty good choice since she doesn't have an annoying super high-pitched voice like some of them, and her personality and looks aren't too bad either.

Been playing more Zoo Keeper and Under Defeat.
I've discovered the other modes apart from time attack are also fun on Zoo Keeper but am now worried that once I get the high scores on all those modes I'll want to go after the quest one so i can unlock super hard and i'm not looking forward to that

What system are you playing Flashback on? I've never played that or Heart of the Alien (Another World 1&2), so I'm gonna get them both for Sega CD.
Anyhow, I'm still on Castlevania Bloodlines. I finally beat the Cog boss on level 4 and then the game started to take the piss. How hard is level 5!

Zoo Keeper - DS
Ok, so I have now managed to be top of the rankings for both Tokoton and Time Attack with Normal within reach, the worry and frustration of having to deal with Quest mode is almost upon me, i had a quick go and got less than 1000points where 10000 is needed to reach the top and thus unlock super hard which is the only way to get high scores apparentely.
Radirgy - Dreamcast
Its a real shame this is such a bare-bones port especially after being spoiled by Under Defeat. What it is really lacking is a Practice mode, i would love that just to practice the bosses. The level 4 boss completely rapes me and only having 1 go (or sometimes not at all) doesn't let me practice him enough. The way this game doesn't have infinite continues provides a real challenge to me - dying doesn't seem a big thing in this game as you just carry on, with no pause or replacement of ship or anything, and the way the system works with the temp shield means i'm pretty much always sitting directly on top of the big bulk of enemies, so if i dont quite get enough or move out of the way fast enough, i die, but sometimes dont even realise

I finished up my game of Tokimeki Memorial. The ending was kind of weird. The girl seemed sad, like they were parting ways instead of staying together, but considering I know next to no Japanese, it's not a surprise that I have no clue what's going on when the whole ending is just the girl yammering on forever. :P
I played some more TwinBee Deluxe Pack, playing Detana TwinBee. You'd think that normally a person would prefer the original arcade version of a game since that's the way the game was originally programmed and it has the fanciest graphics, but I actually prefer the PC Engine port. The arcade version is definitely a quarter muncher, and it gets so crazy cheap and difficult near the end that you KNOW the programmers were more concerned with squeezing money out of the player than anything else (and this was just on medium difficulty). I know some hardcore shmup fans like this, but I like a more fair, console style experience where instead of an insane difficulty and unlimited credits, I'm given a limited amount of continues and a reasonable difficulty that I can master with practice (and not have to devote my entire life to doing so).
And finally, at school today, I played a little more Legend of the River King, got through another stage in Goemon on Konami GB Collection Vol. 3, and played a tiny bit of Bikers.

Dance Dance Revolution 4th Mix - PlayStation (JPN)
I put new foam under the contacts for the directional arrows on the DDR platform I picked up on Tuesday (in the finds thread) to help get some better response. With these PVC platforms it's like night and day if you beef up the foam pads that rest atop the switches. So I ended up playing DDR 4th Mix on endless mode for about two hours - something I need to get back into doing again. It also put in some wear on the new foam to get it to shape properly and compress evenly. All in all, now the platform is working at a reasonable level.

Megadrive .... on Cart.
I'd say play Another world first just because its less conventional.
but it has no direct link to Flashback (that I'm aware of)
so it really doesn't matter which you play first :)
