I finished the aforementioned dungeon in Valkyrie Profile 2 on PS2, and then I went and completed two optional dungeons - Turgen mine and the Ancient Forest. They were much shorter and easier to blow through than the story dungeon I did just before (and the bosses weren't nearly as difficult as the Kraken, of course). After beating the Ancient Forest, I got a second slot to carry sealed stones, so that's really cool. The only problem is that almost all the sealed stone names are entirely in kanji, so it's a royal pain trying to figure out what they do. :/ It's frustrating as an importer how stronger systems actually make it harder to play Japanese games because developers are able to use more and more kanji. Anyway, I moved on to the town of Kalstad, passed through it, and now I'm ready to enter the third section of the world map.
Just started a new game of Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for the Xbox.

MAME - Bump 'n' Jump
I finally beat the NES version - what a freaking dissapointing ending!! I've gotten to the end of some pain in the ass games that have pissed me off with the lackluster ending (Hudson's Adventure Island) but this was especially bad.
Spent some time with my Ms. Pac-Man TV Games joystick after rewiring the battery compartment. There was big time corrosion all over it and a few components needed to be replaced. Working fine now, not bad for $2 from the flea market last spring.

Nintendo DS games. I haven't touched the thing for a month or so, but I've been picking it up again.
Just got Lost in Blue and am having a blast. An excellent little game that's different and shows off the DS' abilities. A good example of the kind of games we'll see on Wii.
Also got Trace Memory, and looks great so far. I've spent all my time on Lost in Blue or Animal Crossing (of course), so I haven't had time for this one.
Brain Age...don't play it much once all the mini-games are unlocked, but it's still good discipline, and Soduko is great game design. A terrific puzzler.
Pac-Man World 3...used copies are everywhere, so it seems to have sold decently. It has a bad reputation that is a little undeserved. Not a standout title by any means, but it's not bad. It's just an N64-style 3D platformer. It's one of those fill-out-your-collection sort of games.
Still playing Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the Xbox. Every time I start a new game the addiction happens all over again.

Star Ocean in english on my Super Famicom. Finally...
How?
Yeah, I'm curious about that too. :)
Anyway, I played a tiny bit more of Valkyrie Profile 2 on PS2, but I didn't get much further in Surt's Volcano Caverns. I think I'm pretty underleveled since I swap all my Einherjar around evenly and I haven't bothered to fight enemies more than once in most cases. I'll keep chipping away at it, though, and hopefully my characters will catch up. I think some people in the US have been able to buy the game, so maybe some other people here will start playing it too. :) My boyfriend's been talking about how he wants to get the US version soon too, so maybe we'll be doing some simultaneous Japanese and English VP2 playing. :P
I also played several random NES/Famicom games via DC emulation the other night, and today at school I played more Bikers on the Konami GB Collection Vol. 3 on my SP. I've been trying to get through the solo B courses, but they're much more difficult than on A. I'm up to 7B. What really irks me about the game is that every time you get a Game Over it goes all the way back to the title screen and you have to select everything all over again. I'd freakin' kill for a continue option. >_< It's not like it would make the game any easier because you can instantly jump to whatever stage and difficulty you left off at.

I decided to complete the optional dungeon Chateau Obsession in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on PS2 before the story dungeon, since beyond the first few battles the enemies got less annoying. I got back into the Crawsus Forest Ruins, but I only have it about half completed.
And yesterday in school, I played a little of just about everything on the Konami GB Collection Vol. 3 on my SP. In Bikers, I've beaten every course up to 3C. The C difficulty is definitely a step up from B. You gotta have a pretty much perfect run to complete the course before the time runs out, and you need to snag every time bonus. Oh, and I farted around in Boxxle for the first time in months, but I didn't manage to beat any new stages.

Anyone recall the code to continue or select a stage, I recall vaguely there was something you can do.
Continue code
To continue on the same level after you run out of lives, wait until the ''Game over'' screen goes away. Then, on the title screen, HOLD DOWN A+B while pressing SELECT 5 times. Let go of A+B, and press start.
Level Select
When you are at the Title screen, hold Start + A + B. Then, release when the level you want is displayed
I finally went and bought a new phono to type F adapter so I can have an always ready option to use pre-NES RF systems. (Atari 2600, Atari 800XL, and Colecovision mainly - although I need to AV mod the Colecovision sometime soon, I've just been lazy about it) Set up the A/B box and so forth and finally put that Sears Video Arcade heavy-sixer to good use... with the one 2600 game that isn't boxed away in storage...

I was having some trouble in Crawsus Forest Ruins in Valkyrie Profile 2 on PS2. First I got a couple cheap Game Overs, and then I just couldn't kill those big trolls guarding sealed stones. I decided I should do something about my weak characters, so I went through all the dungeons I had already completed on the other two sections of the map. I got quite a bit of level ups, lots of items I broke off the enemies, a ton of crystals to use toward releasing more sealed stones, and enough money to upgrade a lot of my equipment. I feel like I'm in much better shape to take on Crawsus now.
What's crazy is that the game has only been out in the US for around a week now, and a lot of people have already beaten it. o_O While here I am, playing my Japanese version whenever I can for over a month (I have 40 hours in the file), and I'm still in Chapter 3. And I think I've been going through the game quite quickly, as evident by my low levels. These kids in middle school and high school must have absolutely nothing to do with their time but play games. I just got around to loading up my copy of Baten Kaitos that I got a few months ago. I thought I wouldn't much care for the card system, but it's actually quite enjoyable. The graphics are pretty good and the story is really starting to shape up. Some of the voice overs are pretty bad though. The last thing I needed to hear was a kid that sounded like Tails from Sonic Adventure. It is cool to hear the guy that voiced Kratos in God of War doing some voice overs for Baten Kaitos.
Other then that I've been playing a good bit of Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. I always seem to die after meeting Alucard though. I was able to beat the clock tower level after much frustration.

I finally beat Crawsus Forest Ruins in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on PS2, and now I'm in the Palace of the Venerated Dragon after having passed through Dragonscrypt. These monsters are seriously kicking my ass, due to me being so underleveled, so I'm going to keep building up my people in the Dragonscrypt passage whenever I need to leave the dungeon.
At school this week it was more Konami GB Collection Vol. 3 on my SP. Even though I hadn't really touched it in months, I played some TwinBee Da!, and I probably would've had it beaten had I not needed to go to class. I also played some Bikers, in which I got up to 4C in solo, and I played around with the versus mode where I beat the computer up to 4A. What's funny about this ancient A.I. is that you can never really get too far ahead of the computer, but the computer also can't get too far ahead of you. If you keep messing up on one spot, the computer will perform all these ridiculous looking "stunts" which keep it from advancing too.

After rebuilding my TurboDuo AV cable using nothing but the original parts (why replace anything when you don't have to?) I sat down and went through Lords of Thunder. It had been awhile but it was still a blast. Actually being left alone to work on engineering projects and video game repair stuff makes this the best birthday I've had in years. LOL
